They say laughter is the best medicine.  Please write a funny memory or share a funny story with us.  It’s flu season.  We need to laugh!

Please go to You Tube and see if you can find a video on Run-On Sentences or on Sentence Fragments.  Watch it and tell us what you think in the comments section.  Be sure to include the title of the video and whether or not you like it, you learned anything from it and whether or not you thought it was helpful.  Would you recommend it?

Imagining a Story About a Person

Your new assignment is to people watch.  Watch and observe a person at a coffee shop, on a bus, at a restaurant or anywhere.  Write a few sentences about this person using as many specific details as possible.  Try to make me SEE this person.

My Favorite Thing to Do on Weekends . . .

Hello Class.  We have just had a nice holiday weekend (though I know some of you were working).

What is your favorite thing to do on weekends? Use the present tense for this exercise and try to add some adjectives.

For example, one of my favorite things to do on weekends is to hang out (or spend time) with my wonderful (that’s an adjective) family.  We like to go hiking.  We also like to go to the beach.  When the weather is so hot that we don’t feel like cooking, we make a delicious picnic or order a tasty pizza and take it down to the beach, so we can have dinner there.  Everyone has a good time together.
